A small "Care and Caution" insert came in the box stating the pans can only go in the oven at temps of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or below, and the glass lids to 270 degrees. Another customer commented here the pans can be used in ovens up to 500 degrees, and the lids to 350 degrees. Being unsure due to the discrepancy I emailed NEWAY at CS@newayusa.com for clarification. They recommend to not put the pans in the oven in temps above 350 degrees, and the lids in ovens no higher than 270 degrees to protect them from discoloring. I emailed them a 2nd time asking them if using them in the oven at higher temps would damage the pans beyond the discoloration problem, and would they remain usable and cleanable? They replied "higher temps would not damage the function of the pans and they would remain usable and cleanable, but they would get discolored, probably in a rainbow type fashion". I haven't tried them in the oven myself but if you want the shiny stainless steel appearance to remain you should follow their temp recommendations of 350 degrees for the pans & 270 degrees for the glass lids. ... As for the quality and appearance of this 6 pan/6 lid set they all seem well worth the money. They are not super heavy, nor are they too lightweight. They are not as heavy as an old Farberware set I had, but they are heavy enough for home use and they are very well made. A good value for the $$. I would recommend buying them for home use. I will update this down the road should I notice anything concerning. Add'l comment: The manufacturer kindly answered both my emails the same day. Their office is in CA. The pans are made in China. The email address Amazon gave me did work but the website rerouted me to a newer website. Customer Service was very helpful and expedient. These numbers are common in the industry and refer to the percentage of chromium and nickel that is used in the manufacture of the stainless steel alloy used to make the cookware. The first number is the percent of chromium in the alloy. Chromium content is what give stainless it's stren gth. The second number is the percent of nickel. Nickel is what gives stainless it's shine and rust-resistance. 18/10 and 18/8 are the optimal amounts of chromium and nickel for stainless steel flatware and are regarded as the highest level of quality. Some people think that 18/10 is better than 18/8 but in reality there is no difference and both are the highest level of quality. On the other hand, 18/0 is different and most of the cheaper stainless steel is 18/0. If numbers are not offered, many times it is because it is 18/0 or the lower level of quality. Most of the time if stainless is 18/8 or 18/10 the seller will let you know that since it is a selling point if cookware is 18/8 or 18/10 and not the softer formulation of 18/0. Both cook about the same, but the softer stainless will scratch easier, which over time results in a dull look. see less

2 Qs: 1) Do they have Teflon coating? 2) I notice that it says aluminum inside. Where? between stainless steel? Or am I cooking ON aluminum??
There is no Teflon. The aluminum inside is between a layer of stainless steel on the outside bottom of them and a layer of stainless steel on the inside bottom. In other words, if you cut the pot/pan in half, you would see three layers at the bottom, the 2 layers of stainless steel sandwiching a layer of aluminum. This… see more There is no Teflon. Are these pans "induction" rated? Will a magnet stick on the bottom?
Is there any kind of warranty to get replacement is get a bad pot or lid.
One of my pans had a large dent in it, I contacted Amazon and they sent replacement set before I got the first set re-packed! they give prompt, excellent service!! Be aware, you must return the entire set, and they will replace entire set. They have no way to replace only one pan or lid.
The bottom of the pot is abut 1/2" thick. It adds some weight to them but not a whole lot. I have a herniated disk in my neck and a bum shoulder to boot, so I am on a strict lifting restriction of nothing over 5 lbs. And these pots are perfect for me. Even the big pot full of water isn't horribly heavy. I cook everything in them except eggs. We found that the eggs stick almost immediately even with a ton of butter. But I have a small teflon pan for eggs, so it was no big deal. But we did notice that the pots heat up much quicker than my old teflon coated ones. Now we do not know if this has anything to do with the fact that the bottoms of these pans are so much thicker than the teflon o nes, but I would bet it does. We cook with gas, and have not had any issues with these pans. The cook everything perfectly, and clean up is easier than we thought. We do wash them by hand because we were told that some dishwasher soaps can scratch the pots. But with 8 people in our house, there is hardly ever any room for the pots in the machine any way. Hope this helps answer your question. see less

The sizes vary. There is a small pot for say, gravy. There's a large pot- about 10 inches. A skillet about 9 inches. There a couple pots that are about 7-8 inches. They're really good pots. Pots for everything really. I cook pasta, boil corn, eggs, veggies ect. Hope that helps.
